Polar Bear Squirts Win Plover Tournament
IRONWOOD, MI - Thursday, March 4, 2010 - The Polar Bears won the Central Wisconsin Saints Tournament this past weekend. The Polar Bears defeated Shaw (Milwaukee), Altoona, Tomahawk and the Central Wisconsin Saints twice to win the championship on Sunday. Scoring goals for the Polar Bears was Tyler Morrison (9) (hat trick), Warner Young (6), C.J. Sorensen (3), Ross Peterson, Ethan Roehm, and Gavin Mattson each with 2, Travis Collins, Brett Heil, Mitch Hissa, and Nathan Garnell each with 1 goal each. Assists were tallied by Young (7), Caleb Baxter (6),Roehm and Morrison with 4 , Hissa and Peterson with 3 , Garnell and Heil with 2, Cade Mazzon, Collins, Sorensen, and Mattson with 1. In net was Matthew Clemens who had 3 shutouts on the weekend. "The most important thing about this weekend wasn't winning the championship but that the kids had fun and bonded like a team should." said coach Scott Kellett.
