Signs of an Early Spring?

IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI - Wednesday, March 10, 2010 - The photo above of the Montreal River looking north from bridge on Nyland Road was submitted to the Chronicle. Could this mean that we will be having an early spring?

Record high temperatures were recorded throughout the Upper Peninsula yesterday. Warm temperatures and rain are in the forecast:

Today - Cooler. Scattered rain showers through mid afternoon... then numerous rain showers late. Patchy fog late. Cloudy. Highs around 46. East winds 5 to 15 mph.

Tonight - Scattered rain showers in the evening...then areas of drizzle after midnight. Areas of fog. Cloudy. Lows around 34. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Thursday - A chance of rain showers...mainly in the afternoon. Areas of fog. Cloudy. Highs 43 to 48. East winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.

Thursday Night - Cloudy with a 50 percent chance of rain. Patchy fog. Lows around 34. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

Friday - Rain likely. Patchy fog. Highs around 41. Northeast winds 5 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.

Friday Night - Cloudy with a 40 percent chance of rain. Lows around 33.

Saturday and Saturday Night - Mostly cloudy. Highs around 41. Lows around 32.

Sunday through Tuesday - Partly cloudy. Highs around 43. Lows around 28.
