This Northwoods Cabin Has Just About Everything
IRONWOOD, MI - by Keri Singleton - Thursday, March 4, 2010 - Is there a place in Ironwood, Michigan, where one can find just about anything? Is there a place where, if you can’t find something, the proprietor will do everything in her power to find it for you? I’m not talking about a large selection; I’m talking about an absolutely massive inventory of items, from antiques to new medical scrubs. Yes, Mary’s Northwoods Cabin, located at 210 South Suffolk Street, and the three other stores across the street, which are filled with everything from tools to TV’s, offer a shopping experience that will keep you coming back. Four stores await you on Suffolk Street, with Northwoods Cabin sitting on one side of the street, and the other three across the street. Furniture, crafts, antiques, books, records, crystal, and china are some of the items you will find here. If you can’t find it here, Mary will do everything she can to find it for you. Mary and Bob Waits moved to the area from the East Coast in 2000, where they were business people. Mary worked at the building where Northwoods Cabin sits now before opening up her own place in December of 2007. A wonderful aspect of Northwoods Cabin, and the other three, is that most things are sold on consignment. Mary said she wanted to, “Create a way for people to sell things that they could no longer use, and allow them to be able to buy items that they needed at a reasonable price.” It certainly appears to be working, judging by the rapid expansion since 2007. Mary is someone that obviously cares about the community; offering low prices, layaway, and monthly discount sales. Besides being one of the nicest ladies you could ever meet, Mary will do everything she can to help you find what you need. If you can’t find her at Northwoods Cabin, a note on the door will direct you to the other stores across the street. There are many items to be found here that can’t found anywhere else, so stop in today. Along with items, Mary can direct you to service people available for any job needed; such as carpentry, painting, etc. 3
